Saint Genevieve

In the year 430, St. Germain saw young Genevieve while preaching near Paris. Foreseeing her future holiness, he invited her to consecrate herself to Jesus. That was all Genevieve wanted! With no convents nearby, Genevieve lived a life of prayer and charity at home, often walking to church at night carrying a candle. In 451, Attila the Hun approached the city. Genevieve led the Parisians in prayer and fasting, and miraculously, the army turned away.
